Advanced Smile Design & Porcelain Veneers by a Certified Specialist
World-Class Smile Design. 70% Less Than Home
- Why the cost difference exists. Many patients ask, "what is the average cost of porcelain veneers" and why our rates differ from their home providers. The answer lies in global economics, not clinical shortcuts. At our practice, we utilize the exact same materials—authentic Ivoclar E.max and high-grade feldspathic porcelain—used by top-tier providers worldwide. We employ the same digital scanning technology and adhere to identical bonding protocols. The reduction in your investment is strictly a result of lower local operational overheads in Colombia compared to North America or Europe. By choosing Dr. Stefany Lince, you are engaging a Specialist in Oral Rehabilitation, not a general practitioner. This ensures your smile design is not just aesthetic, but functionally balanced for longevity. You receive specialist-level care and premium materials while paying a price that reflects the local economy, not the international standard markup.

FAQs
What is “smile design” and how is it different from regular dentistry?
Porcelain veneers are not a “forever” treatment, but with good care they are long-lasting and very stable.
On average, porcelain veneers last between 10 and 15 years.
With excellent oral hygiene, regular check-ups and good habits (no biting hard objects, no opening things with your teeth, controlled bruxism, etc.), many patients can keep them 15–20 years before needing a replacement or small repairs.
What makes veneers last longer?
High-quality ceramics and adhesive protocols
Good initial planning (bite analysis, photos, mock-up)
Using a night guard if you grind or clench your teeth
Professional cleanings and check-ups at least once a year
No smoking and limiting very pigmented drinks (coffee, wine, tea)
And what if I live abroad?
Because you would be coming to Cali for dental tourism, we plan your smile design so that:
Most of the work is done in one main trip (usually 7–10 days, depending on each case).
You can do your routine cleanings and basic controls in your home country.
If you ever need an adjustment or replacement years later, we can:
evaluate you by online consultation with photos and X-rays, and
plan a new trip to Cali only if it’s really necessary.
So, a porcelain veneer smile design is a medium- to long-term investment: you enjoy a new smile now, and with proper care you can keep it beautiful and functional for more than a decade.
How much does smile design with porcelain veneers cost in Colombia compared to the US?
As Dra. Stefany Lince, this is how I would explain it to you as an international patient 👇
1. Cost per tooth: Colombia vs. USA
In the United States (2025):
Porcelain veneers usually cost between $900 and $2,500 USD per tooth. CareCredit+3Houston Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center+3SNOW® Oral Care+3
In Colombia (2025):
High-quality porcelain veneers typically cost between $200 and $500 USD per tooth, sometimes up to $650 USD in top clinics, depending on the case and material. Flymedi+4drasararestrepos.com+4topveneerscolombia.com+4
👉 In simple terms:
You usually pay around 60–70% less per tooth in Colombia compared to the US, with the same international brands and techniques.
2. Cost of a full smile design (8–10 veneers)
Most smile designs focus on 8 to 10 upper front teeth.
In the USA:
A smile design with 8–10 porcelain veneers usually ends up around $8,000 to $25,000 USD, depending on the clinic and city. Houston Dental Implant & Cosmetic Center+2Pinnacle Dental+2
In Colombia:
The same 8–10 porcelain veneers often range between $2,000 and $5,000 USD in many high-level clinics, depending on:
number of teeth
type of porcelain (e.g., E-max, zirconia)
if you need additional procedures (gums, root canals, etc.) Dental Tourism Colombia+2en.periodoncistajohannacalderon.com+2
So even adding flights and hotel, many patients still save thousands of dollars by doing their smile design in Colombia.
3. What about my prices specifically?
In my practice in Cali, I work with:
Personalized digital planning (photos, videos, bite analysis).
High-strength ceramics from international labs.
A treatment plan adapted to your travel dates (usually 7–10 days for porcelain veneers, depending on the case).
Because each mouth is different, I always give a detailed quote after an online evaluation (photos + video call). But you can expect my prices to be within the Colombian premium range, still much lower than US prices for a similar level of quality and specialization.
4. Next step if you’re considering coming to Cali
If you’re thinking seriously about dental tourism, the usual flow is:
You send me 5–8 smile photos and any recent X-rays.
I do an online assessment and give you:
a preliminary treatment plan,
an estimated total cost in USD,
and an estimated number of days in Cali.
With that information, you can compare easily with US prices and decide if traveling to Colombia makes sense for you.
If you want, I can help you draft the photos you should take so we can start with a remote evaluation of your case.
How many days do I need to stay in Cali for smile design treatment?
As Dra. Stefany Lince, this is exactly what I’d tell you as an international patient 👇
How many days do I need to stay in Cali for a smile design?
For porcelain veneers smile design, most of my international patients need:
🧳 Around 7–10 days in Cali
(for a standard case with 8–10 veneers and no major additional treatments)
That usually gives us enough time to:
Do your in-person evaluation,
Plan and test your new smile,
Prepare your teeth,
Fabricate the veneers in the lab,
Bond them carefully and check your bite,
Do a final control before you fly back.
Typical schedule for porcelain veneers (example)
Day 1 – In-person evaluation & planning
Clinical exam, photos, videos, digital scan.
We confirm the treatment plan previously discussed online.
Sometimes we do a mock-up (temporary test smile) so you can “try on” your new smile.
Day 2 – Test smile & tooth preparation
You see and feel the mock-up.
We adjust shape and length if needed.
I prepare the teeth minimally, take final impressions / scans, and place temporary veneers.
Days 3–4 – Lab work (you enjoy Cali)
The dental lab designs and fabricates your porcelain veneers.
You can use these days for tourism, rest, or any additional minor dental work if needed.
Day 5 or 6 – Veneer try-in & bonding
We try each veneer, check color, shape and bite.
If everything looks perfect, we bond them permanently.
We refine details (edges, bite) very carefully.
Day 7–8 – Final control & night guard
Final check-up, bite adjustment if necessary.
Delivery of your night guard (if you grind/clench).
Photos, instructions, and a written report you can share with your dentist at home if needed.
That’s why I recommend at least one full week in Cali, and if your schedule allows, 7–10 days is ideal.
What if my case is more complex?
You may need more time or two trips if you require:
Gum surgery / contouring
Root canals
Extractions and implants
Orthodontics before veneers
In those situations, I explain everything clearly during our online evaluation, so you know if your case fits in one trip or will need a phased plan.
Summary
Standard porcelain veneer smile design:
👉 Plan for 7–10 days in Cali.Simple resin smile touch-ups (no major issues):
👉 Sometimes possible in 3–5 days, depending on the case.Complex cases:
👉 May require 2 trips or a longer stay.
If you’d like, I can tell you exactly how many days you might need based on some photos of your smile and a brief description of your goals.
What materials do you use for smile design and veneers?
As Dra. Stefany Lince, this is how I explain it to my international patients 👇
What materials do you use for smile design and veneers?
For smile design in my clinic in Cali, I mainly work with two categories of materials:
Porcelain / Ceramic veneers (indirect, made in the lab)
Composite resin veneers (direct, made chairside)
Both are aesthetic, safe and internationally recognized materials, but they are used for different types of cases and expectations.
1. Porcelain / Ceramic Veneers
These are the ones most patients choose when they travel for dental tourism, because they are:
Very stable in color over the years
Highly resistant to staining (coffee, wine, tea)
Extremely natural-looking when properly designed
Strong but still conservative with tooth enamel if planned correctly
In my practice I work mainly with:
🔹 Lithium disilicate ceramics (e.g. E-max type)
Great translucency and natural shine
Ideal for front teeth and complete smile designs
Allows conservative tooth preparation in many cases
🔹 Zirconia-based ceramics
Stronger and more rigid
I use them mainly when we also need to reinforce the bite or combine veneers with crowns or bridges
Good option for patients with heavier bites or bruxism (along with a night guard)
All ceramics come from high-quality dental labs that use certified brands commonly used in Europe and the US.
2. Composite Resin Veneers (Direct or Indirect)
These are veneers made with high-end aesthetic composite resins, the same type of material we use for white fillings but with better polishability and color stability.
I use nano-hybrid / nano-filled resins specifically designed for:
High gloss and natural surface texture
Good color match with your teeth
Minimal tooth reduction (sometimes no prep)
I use resins in two main ways:
🔹 Direct composite veneers
Made directly on your teeth in the chair
Great for small corrections:
Close gaps
Fix chipped edges
Slightly change shape or length
Usually more affordable and can often be done in 1–2 visits
🔹 Indirect composite veneers
Designed and built partially in the lab
Then bonded to your teeth, like ceramic veneers
Combine good aesthetics with conservative tooth preparation
These are an excellent choice if you want something beautiful and conservative, and you accept that composite may need maintenance or polishing sooner than ceramic.
3. Adhesives and Cements (The “Invisible” Part That Matters A Lot)
For both porcelain and resin veneers, I use:
Light-cured and dual-cured resin cements from recognized brands
Adhesive systems with strong scientific evidence and long-term clinical studies
Rubber dam and other isolation techniques to ensure the bonding is:
Clean
Dry
Durable
This part is crucial: the material alone doesn’t guarantee success — the adhesive protocol and clinical criteria are just as important for long-term results.
4. How do I decide which material is best for you?
In your online and in-person evaluation, I consider:
Your age and smile line
The current color and structure of your teeth
If you have old fillings or fractures
If you grind or clench (bruxism)
How long you plan to keep the result without major changes
Your budget and travel schedule
Then I recommend one of these options:
Full ceramic veneer smile design (most popular for international patients)
Mixed cases (some porcelain veneers + some crowns or resin where needed)
Conservative resin smile makeover when appropriate
In summary
For smile design and veneers in Cali, I work with:
High-end porcelain/ceramic systems (lithium disilicate, zirconia)
Premium aesthetic composite resins for minimally invasive cases
International-quality cements and adhesive systems with scientific backing
All of this is planned with digital photos, videos and bite analysis, so your smile is not only beautiful on camera, but also functional and comfortable in real life.
If you’d like, you can tell me what you want to change about your smile (color, shape, size, gaps, etc.) and I can suggest whether ceramic or resin would be more suitable for your specific case.
Will my new smile look natural or “fake”?
As Dra. Stefany Lince, this is one of the questions I hear the most from international patients 👇
Will my new smile look natural or “fake”?
My goal is very clear:
🦷 Your new smile should look like you… but at your best, not like someone else’s teeth pasted on your face.
I don’t do “one-size-fits-all” or overly artificial smiles unless a patient specifically asks for that style. Most patients who travel to Cali for dental tourism with me ask for a natural, elegant, age-appropriate result.
1. We design your smile around your face, not just your teeth
To avoid a “fake” look, I always analyze:
The shape of your face
Your lips and how you smile (big/small smile)
Your gum line (how much gum you show)
The midline of your face (nose, lips, chin alignment)
Your age and personality (a 25-year-old and a 55-year-old should not have the exact same smile)
From there, we choose tooth shapes and proportions that match your face:
Softer, rounder shapes → sweeter, younger look
More square, straight shapes → stronger, more “serious” look
2. Color: not everyone wants “paper white”
You don’t have to choose the whitest shade in the chart to have a beautiful smile.
For a natural result, we usually:
Choose a light, bright color, but with a little warmth so it doesn’t look “neon”
Add subtle variations between teeth (like natural teeth have)
Consider your skin tone, lip color and eyes so everything looks balanced
If you tell me:
“I want white, but I don’t want people to notice from the other side of the room,”
then we stay in a natural, sophisticated range, not “fake Hollywood”.
3. Texture and details: the secret of a natural smile
Natural teeth are not perfectly flat or perfectly symmetrical.
When I design veneers, I take care of details like:
Micro-texture on the surface (so they reflect light like real enamel)
Slight differences between right and left sides
Soft incisal edges, not like a straight plastic line
Tiny translucencies near the edges (depending on your case)
All these small details make other people think:
“Wow, your teeth look amazing,”
not
“You got veneers, right?”
4. You can “test-drive” your new smile before we finalize
For porcelain veneers, we usually do a mock-up:
We place a temporary version of your future smile on top of your teeth.
You can look in the mirror, talk, smile, even take photos and videos.
If you feel something looks “too big,” “too square,” or “too white,” we can adjust before the final ceramics are made.
This step is very important for my international patients because you’re traveling a long way — I want you to feel 100% comfortable before we cement anything permanently.
5. I respect your style and your limits
Some patients tell me:
“I want a very natural change; I don’t want people to notice I had work done.”
Others say:“I want a visible, brighter transformation.”
Both are valid. My job is to:
Listen carefully to what you want.
Show you realistic options (photos, mock-up).
Guide you to a result that is beautiful, functional and in harmony with your face.
In summary
Your new smile does not have to look fake.
With proper planning, high-quality materials and attention to detail, we can achieve a result that looks:
Natural
Elegant
Healthy
And, most importantly, authentically you
If you’d like, you can send me some photos of your current smile and a couple of smiles you like (reference images), and I can tell you what type of result — more subtle or more noticeable — would fit you best.
How long does a smile design with porcelain veneers last?
With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or longer.
Their longevity depends on oral hygiene, regular dental check-ups, and habits such as avoiding teeth grinding or biting hard objects.
Does smile design treatment hurt?
No, smile design treatment is not painful.
Procedures are performed with gentle techniques, and local anesthesia is used when needed to ensure your comfort. Most patients report little to no discomfort during or after treatment.
What treatments are included in a smile design plan?
A smile design plan is fully personalized and may include treatments such as teeth whitening, composite bonding or porcelain veneers, crowns or veneers for worn teeth, gum contouring, and bite or functional adjustments.
Each plan is carefully designed to improve both aesthetics and long-term oral function.
Do you shave down my natural teeth?
In most cases, no. I always prioritize minimally invasive dentistry.
Depending on your case, treatment can be done with little to no enamel reduction, and any preparation is carefully planned to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible.
What is the difference between Porcelain Veneers and Composite Bonding?
Porcelain veneers are custom-made ceramic shells fabricated in a dental lab; they are more durable, stain-resistant, and offer highly predictable, long-term aesthetic results.
Composite bonding is done directly on the tooth in one visit, is more affordable and minimally invasive, but it has a shorter lifespan and is more prone to staining and wear over time.
